This is Traeden, and he is our 2017-2018 NMSA President!
I can't explain to you in minimal words just how awesome he is, so instead here's a bit of an introduction!
Traeden is 23 years old from Salt Lake City, UT. He is a Junior in school at BYU and is studying Physiology and Developmental Biology so that he can attend medical school and specialize in neurology (pretty smart stuff, eh?). He is an avid Mountain Biker, and has competed in races here in Utah. He loves to read and prefers books that allow him to learn. Some of his favorites include "The Alchemist," "When Breath Becomes Air," "Good to Great," and "Make it Stick." When we asked him why he is interested in Nonprofit Organizations, this was his answer:
"I love being a part of something bigger than myself. I have had many opportunities to succeed and progress in life for which I am extremely grateful. I have a soft spot in my heart for those less fortunate and desire that everyone have similar opportunities to succeed despite health problems, income, education, etc."
Traeden is a really dedicated President, and he does a wonderful job heading up this club on campus. He wanted to be on the NMSA board because he wanted to make sure each student has the correct opportunity that they need to succeed in a meaningful career. "I love helping those who want to serve others because they are always so willing and so selfless."
Come meet Traeden and the rest of the board at our frequent activities, or contact us with any questions/inquiries at email@example.com. See you soon!
Our Nonprofit Management Student Association club President, Traeden Wilson, wrote a wonderful welcome post on our new BYU linked website on Career Launch. Here it is!

As summer comes to an end, internships end, and vacations become memories, the looming anxiety of school approaches. This anxiety is different for each student. Some students are anxious to have a fresh start or anxious to work hard. Other students are nervous, their anxiety peaking as they review their upcoming schedule or a pricy booklist. Anxiety is a normal part of everyone’s summer coming to a close and no matter what kind of anxiety you have, we, here at the Nonprofit Management Student Association (NMSA), hope to add some positivity to your closing summer.
All summer long the NMSA board has worked hard to revamp the experience available for each NMSA member, bringing them opportunities to expand their learning and gain experience in the nonprofit sector. All of our club information, events, and opportunities will be easily accessible through our website byunmsa.org, our Marriott School Career Launch Page, and our newsletter emails, not to mention our popular Facebook page.
Our mission is to develop the future leaders of the nonprofit sector at Brigham Young University, so this year we are bringing our members new experiences that will help build knowledge and experience. NMSA members who are current on their dues will have access to monthly internship updates, a personalized membership profile, opportunities to have writings published, a semester case study project, advanced premium pricing on club events, and much more.
The Nonprofit Management Student Association helps members achieve their career goals and find success in the nonprofit sector. This year we are really taking this purpose to heart. We will provide memorable experiences, coordinate professional networking, and connect students with internship opportunities so that each student can easily “enter to learn, and go forth to serve.”
